Choosing Your Maids

Choosing Your BridesmaidsChoosing your bridesmaids is a difficult task in the wedding planning process. You usually have an idea of who you would choose from a very young age, but the reality is, when the time comes, that will totally go out the window. Suddenly you will have friends and family crawling out of the woodwork to be apart of your wedding. This is a controversial decision, so be sure you make the right one!

First, determine how many you will have. You may think it will be easier to have a dozen bridesmaids, that way no one will have their feelings hurt when you have to choose. However, if you are on a budget, consider that the bill for all of the bouquets will go to you. It will also create more conflict issues for timing and decision making, such as dress color and style.

Don’t feel obligated either, just because you were asked to be in your friends wedding, doesn’t reserve them in a spot in yours. It’s your day, don’t have any regrets! This applies for family as well, if your sister in law doesn’t seem like she would get along with your other maids, then don’t feel guilty about not involving her.
